Case Study
The Innova Solution Web App
Inclusive solutions for an enhanced workforce.

Background
The INNoVA Solution is a government-funded private company launch with a vision to empower an inclusive Canadian workforce. PaintedRobot’s mission was to migrate some of the responsibilities, services, and features away from CCRW (the parent government organization) and create a new innovative marketplace platform on which service companies and job seekers could learn about and access resources to foster inclusive workplaces.
The Challenge
The new team at INNoVA had an idea and a vision that required a marketing site and a fully functioning web app all in one. The marketing site had to use clear messaging to showcase INNoVA’s services and features in specific user journeys based on what matters to each user type. Notably, the site had to be accessible and accommodating for users with disabilities.
Objectives
Showcase Innovation in the Space
Showcase the innovation and modern approach that INNoVA takes to workplace accessibility.
A Design that Matches the Brand Vision
Match the site’s design and layout to the INNoVA team’s vision and represent their desired brand appearance and feel.
User Journeys to All Products and Services
Create clear user journeys to all products and services, with businesses as the priority customer user type.
Accessibility Without Compromise
Make the site as accessible as possible without negatively impacting the primary customer’s user experience or compromising the desired brand feel.
Our Process
Research the Market(s) and Competition
We researched the target audience, conducted marketing research on job boards, learned about management systems, and consulted on accessibility and inclusion.
Structure Users and Products/Services
We developed user personas and determined which products and services are best for each. We built specific user journeys for each user type that led to those products and services.
Design Specific User Journeys to Goals
Once users were known and their targeted products and services were defined, we built out specific user journeys linked to specific conversion goals to be incorporated into the site design.
Design, Build, and Integrate accessiBe
We started the design and build phases, integrating accessiBe for powerful user-based accessibility options and compliance.
Results and Solutions
The final product is a dual-user platform solution.
Both user experiences are designed with accessibility at the forefront, considering the specific needs of employers and job seekers in an ever-growing accessible workplace.

This platform aims to set a new standard for accessible job boards and the future of corporate responsibility.
Reflection
The INNoVA Solution’s marketing site was a rewarding partnership in which the PaintedRobot team worked hand in hand with INNoVA to build a technical infrastructure that would empower users. We succeeded in simplifying, explaining, and managing client expectations to offer many solutions or ideas that they may not have otherwise considered.
The marketing site was a success, and PaintedRobot went on to do additional work with the parent company CCRW. The site was intentionally built with INNoVA’s non-technical team in mind. It was a smooth transition for their internal team to take over web content edits and simple development after some basic initial training.
